The Murray Theater holds the distinction of being one of Utah's few remaining examples of Art Moderne architecture. Its distinctive curved facade, horizontal lines, and glass-block accents speak to a bygone era of elegance and innovation. The Theater has been a cultural anchor for the community since it first opened its doors on October 28, 1938. Today, the theater's revival is being shaped not only by city leadership but also by the passionate efforts of local residents, the Murray Arts Advisory board and generous community partners. Their shared commitment ensures that this historic gem will continue to inspire and entertain for generations to come. What does Sponsoring a Seat mean?

By sponsoring a seat, you get to name or personalize an inscription on a plaque that will be placed on the back of seat. You will also be invited to an exclusive night at the theater to "meet your seat".

How to Sponsor Your Seat

• Online: Select your desired seat online through Showpass
• In Person: Seat selection and donation can be made at the Murray Parks & Recreation Office 
  • Located: 296 E Murray Park Ave
  • Office Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Rules and Plaque Information:

• Individuals/businesses can sponsor up to 4 chairs only
• Engraved plaque will be approximately 1" x 3" in size and will be attached to the back of the seat
• Personalized text is a maximum of 2 lines with 32 characters each (spaces included)
• All text submitted will be reviewed and must be approved by the Parks & Recreation Office
• Text with vulgar or explicit language is not permitted. No political statements.
• The City reserves the right to deem text inappropriate for public display.
• Plaque will remain on back of seat for 10 years
